8-Week Myofunctional Therapy Program- ages 4+

The 8-week myofunctional therapy program is an individualised rehabilitation program designed to improve the strength, coordination and function of the muscles of the tongue, lips, cheeks and face. Following a comprehensive assessment, a tailored treatment plan is developed to address each client's specific functional goals.

This program focuses on establishing optimal nasal breathing, correct tongue resting posture, lip seal, chewing and swallowing patterns, while supporting healthy oral and facial development. Weekly appointments monitor progress, refine and introduce new exercises and ensure correct technique, with a structured home program provided to encourage consistent practice between sessions.

The program includes a Myo Munchee®, which is used as part of your prescribed therapy to support muscle activation, functional retraining and the development of healthy oral habits. Where appropriate, care is coordinated with your dentist, orthodontist, ENT specialist, speech pathologist or other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

*To ensure a comprehensive evaluation, the initial and final assessments are completed in person. Follow-up appointments throughout the program can be attended either in person or via telehealth.

Following completion of your therapy program, Maintenance & Progress Review appointments are recommended to monitor long-term outcomes and ensure healthy oral function is maintained. These appointments provide an opportunity to reassess breathing, oral resting posture, chewing, swallowing and other functional goals, reinforce positive habits, address any new concerns and modify your home program where required. The frequency of review appointments is tailored to your individual needs and stage of treatment.
